SamCorp advised on the partial MBO of The Airline Management Group, enabling the owners to release a substantial cash sum.
Based close to Gatwick airport, AMG was founded by Richard Harreiter and Geraldine Broadley, who wanted to exit day-to-day management of the business and realise part of their investment, while retaining a significant minority interest. At the same time the senior management team, comprising the Operations Director and Finance Director, were keen to acquire a controlling interest. SamCorp devised a restructuring plan that involved the owners relinquishing 55% of the equity, thereby releasing a substantial cash sum, while Richard assumed the role of executive chairman.
Richard Harreiter says:
“Our partial MBO required flexibility and absolute focus to bring about a successful conclusion to the deal and Peter and his SamCorp team gave that and much more. It is no understatement to say that without their input, the deal would never have happened. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the SamCorp team to any business owner looking to either sell a stake in their business or seeking the introduction of additional equity”.
